Extra Curricular Activities

PAL AVIATION SCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Celebrating the spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship and wellness, the Philippine Airlines Aviation School launched their first basketball tournament last September 20, 2010 at the Air Force City Gymnasium in Clark Field, Pampanga.

Ever since, basketball has been the number one past time of the PALAS family. This time, the school has made it official. The league’s roster of players consists of the flight instructors and existing pilot trainees from AO Classes 2009 Alpha, 2009 Bravo and 2010 Alpha.

The gymnasium was filled with the different colors representing the 5 competing teams: the Blue Anjels, the Green Minded, the White Los Gwapitos, the Red Barons and the Black Sexy Beasts.

PAL Aviation School Basketball Teams

The event was hosted by PT Edgardo Sabitsana Jr., Class Marcher of AO Class 2009 Alpha. PT Edilberto Cayetano Jr., President of AO Class 2010 Alpha then opened the ceremony with a prayer and PT Martin Dario, President of AO Class 2009 Bravo sung the national anthem. Before the official tip-off to start the games, all the participants recited the Oath of Sportsmanship which was led by PT Vicente Uy Jr., Class Secretary of AO Class 2009 Alpha.

In his opening remarks, Chief Ground Instructor, Capt. Gabriel Noveloso stated that, “This is a milestone for the PAL AvSchool family.”

In the opening games, the Black Sexy Beasts won over Blue Anjels while the White Los Gwapitos defeated the Red Barons.

Because of the efforts exerted by the organizing team led by Sports Committee Head, Capt. Teodoro Pasaylo Jr. and with the approval of AVP-HR Training and Development Ms. Maria Antonia H. Llamzon and Chief Flight Instructor, Capt. Michael Mandilag, the opening ceremonies of the league resulted to a huge success. Truly, everything became worthwhile and memorable for the entire PALAS family.
